National Trust

Over the last few years Greenwood Oak has been asked to design, manufacture and install buildings for The National Trust, The Peak District National Park Authority and Marbury Park.

Little Morton Hall

Little Morton Hall

For the National Trust we designed a plant and garden gift store at Little Morton Hall, one of the best 16th century ornate framed manor houses in the country. The brief from the shop manager included folding doors to secure the goods while the shop was closed. The aim was to create a ‘potting shed’ style building from which to sell the plants etc.

Since spring 2013 the plant store has been very popular and sales have increased substantially.

Nether Alderly Archaeological Heritage Site

At the National Trusts’ Nether Alderley Archaeological Heritage site, the site manager asked us to make a Oak Framed shelter to house display panels showing the sites layout and history. This shelter was made entirely from Oak and is now aged an silvered and is ‘part of the landscape.’

The Marbury Country Park, Marbury Lodge

The Marbury Country Park, Marbury Lodge

We were commissioned to form the centre piece of the park and it has become a focal point for events and gatherings throughout the seasons. The building was designed to a brief from FOAM. Friends of Anderton and Marbury. Marbury Country Park is overseen by Cheshire Countryside Rangers and Marbury Lodge has helped with many of there outdoor events in poor weather.
